A Gentleman in Khaki

A painting based on the figure I made before the summer. In turn, the figure was based on Caton Woodville's illustration. So it's come full circle from illustration to figure and back to illustration.

 

I didn't make this as mechanical as the WW1 paintings as the subject predates the mechanisation of 20th century warfare.
